This week, I've been out enjoying this beautiful sunny weather in Istanbul.

I'm often strolling around by myself. My life here hasn't changed.

Yesterday, another blonde, American friend joined me. We wandered up to Taksim, down busy Istiklal Caddesi, through slightly run-down Tophane and back to the Kabataş Iskelesi - about 4 km total. We popped into several shops and two art galleries here and there.

I'd say it was a perfect day in Istanbul.

When we arrived at Kabataş, I was surprised to see the heavy fog enveloping the Bosphorus Bridge and the Sarayburnu peninsula where Sultanahmet is located. The pale pink skyline was highlighted by the Topkapi Palace and the minarets of the Ayasofya and the Blue Mosque.
To see this much of a foggy haze in the middle of the afternoon was rare for me! I guess I don't walk along the Bosphorus as much as I should. My friend said she can see the fog more often from the Asian side where she lives.

Well, I couldn't resist take several photos and writing a small post about foggy Istanbul. Enjoy!
Another foggy view of Sarayburnu as the waves slashed up by me.
I could barely see the Bosphorus Bridge from here.
Today, I'm heading out and about again - by myself in Istanbul - with my camera in tow.

@Joyce, thanks! I did! It's been in the 50s/60s all week - so just great weather!

@Erica (Irene), are you ready for your trip? So much to see and do, right? ;-)

@Turklish Yazar, thanks for that! Sorry if I seem a little short with my remark in the post. Like I said, I've never felt unsafe here and will continue about my merry way in this city. :-)

What eerily beautiful photos :)
And I love nothing more than strolling about a city without anything in particular to do or see, I always discover the coolest things that way.

@Sara Louise, that's great travel advice for everywhere! Just wander because you never know what you will discover. :-)

@Liz, trust me! You'll be more than fine! I haven't been out as much this past week bc I've had a horrible cough/cold. Everyone has gripe. Hope to be back out and about soon! If you are here soon, drop me a line for coffee or something! :-)
